Summer 1914

State Department. We are watching the war in Europe closely. Public opinion is mixed, but trending toward support of Britain and her allies.

Department of the Navy. Our Atlantic Fleet is performing maneuvers off the coast of Canada. Our shipyards in Baltimore have produced a flotilla of troop transports and those in Norfolk have produced a flotilla of Submarines.

Department of the Army. 2 Army Reserve Artillery Divisions have been mustered at Fort Drum. Training for other East coast units has been increased.

Treasury Department. After expenditures, we have 20 million dollars in the treasury for the Fall.
