Ottoman Empire, Summer 1914
Bulgaria. One of our leading diplomats, escorted by 1 division of Infantry, visited Sofia and won over the allegiance of the Bulgarians. Their large army of 5 Infantry divisions and 1 Artillery division mustered and have joined our forces.
Trans-Jordan. Our army from Smyrna joined the brave defenders in Trans-Jordan and assaulted the British trenches. Of the 7 Infantry divisions and 1 Artillery division, 4 of the Infantry divisions fell, but the British were severely punished, losing 2 divisions of Infantry and 2 of Artillery. 1 British division remains, sorely outnumbered, but dug in.
Arabia. Saddened by the betrayal of our Southern neighbors, 3 divisions of Infantry and 1 division of Artillery invaded Arabia. 2 of our Infantry divisions were destroyed crossing the sands, but our forces were able to catch and destroy 1 of their Infantry divisions. Our forces have dug in.
Naval Action. In a bold strike, our battle fleet crossed into the Mediterranean and attacked the combined Franco-Italian fleet off the coast of Italy. Unluckily, many of our cruisers struck mines navigating the approaching channels. The remainder fought valiantly, destroying the Italian warship force, but had insufficient force remaining to chase down and destroy the transports. The survivors have limped back to port and will require intensive repair and investment before another sortie can be attempted.
Constantinople. 4 divisions of Infantry and 1 of Artillery mustered near Constantinople, ready for action in the Fall. Buoyed by the inclusion of the Bulgarian economy, 18 million Swiss Francs fill our treasury.
